04Questions

Reasonable questions, answered plainly.

What kinds of question can a paper hold?

Multiple choice and written answer. A paper can be entirely one, entirely the other, or a mix of both. Multiple-choice questions carry the correct option and an optional explanation; written answers carry an answer guide for marking.

Can questions contain equations or diagrams?

Yes. Equations are typeset properly rather than pasted as images, and figures can be placed inline in the question text. Both render for the student exactly as you wrote them.

What happens if I edit a paper after publishing it?

Nothing, until you publish again. Publishing takes a snapshot, and student take that snapshot — so an edit cannot change the paper under someone who is partway through. The paper tells you when it has changed since it was last published, and republishing is an explicit action.

Can a student see the correct answers before submitting?

No. The correct option, the explanation and the answer guide are removed on the server before a question is sent to a student, and marking runs against the original record. Explanations appear on the result page after submission.

What if a student loses their connection during an assessment?

Answers save as the student works. If they close the tab or drop off, they resume the same attempt where they left it rather than starting again.

How do students get access to a paper?

Students sign in to their own portal and see the papers you have published. There is no link to send and nothing to distribute.
